Banni Grasslands Reserve

Banni Grasslands Reserve or Banni grasslands form a grassland ecosystem on the outer southern edge of the desert of the marshy salt flats of Rann of Kutch in Kutch District, Gujarat State, India. They are known for wildlife and biodiversity and are spread around 3,847 square kilometres.It is legally saved reserve forest in India. It is a protected forest more than half a century ago.

The Great Rann of Kutch

The Great Rann of Kutch is located along with the Little Rann of Kutch and the Banni grasslands on its southern edge.It is spread over 30,000 Kilometer square.The Great Rann of Kutch together with the Little Rann of Kutch is called Rann of Kutch.In India's summer monsoon, the flat desert of salty clay and mudflats, which average 15 meters above sea level, fills with standing water.
 
Black Hills

Kalo Dungar (Black Hills)

Kalo Dungar or Black Hill is the highest point in Kutch, Gujarat, India. This is the only place in Kutch from where whole view of the Great Rann of Kutch can be seen. It is also famous for Dattatreya temple. Legend says that when Dattatreya, a god walked on the earth, he stopped at the Black Hills and offered his body to eat to starving jackals and as they ate, his body continually regenerated itself.
